Runoff Likely in Louisiana

The DSCC just sent $2 million down to Louisiana today to help Senator Mary Landrieu (D) re-election bid, but there is a catch. The ad buy is for late November and December, which confirms that the Democrats believe this race is headed for a runoff. The quick ad buy by Democrats now give them a leg up in the runoff and first dips at primetime ad buys before Republicans. A new poll is out confirming the prospect of a runoff in Louisiana.

FOX 8 News-Raycom Media is out with a new poll in Louisiana that finds Senator Mary Landrieu (D) leading in the U.S. Senate race against challenger Bill Cassidy (R), 36% to 32%, with Rob Maness at 6%.

Cassidy leads a two-way race with Landrieu, 43% to 40%.
