An interesting thing happened at the start of the Florida gubernatorial debate, Charlie Crist (D) was the only candidate out on stage as Governor Rick Scott (R) refused to take the stage because Crist was using a small fan to keep him cool. After a few minutes of Crist standing alone and the moderators freaking out over what to do, Governor Rick Scott (R) took to the stage and the debate finally began, six minutes late.
Said Crist during the Scott fan protest: “Are we really going to debate about a fan? Or are we going to talk about education and the environment and the future of our state? I mean, really.”
A very bizarre moment in a race that polls show in a dead heat. While Crist might of broke the rule by having someone place a small fan under him, for Rick Scott to refuse to talk to the people of Florida over a small fan might end up haunting him on election night. It doesn’t make Governor Scott look to professional and Crist make a brilliant move by coming out on stage and forcing Scott’s hand.
