South Dakota: “The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee will spend $1 million in South Dakota — mostly on television and the rest on field operations — in a last-minute attempt to hold a U.S. Senate seat they now view as winnable,” Bloomberg reports.
Meet the Press: This is interesting, apparently NBC was close to giving Meet the Press to comedian Jon Stewart, but instead gave it to Chuck Todd when things didn’t work out. Apparently one NBC executive said that the company was willing to give Jon Stewart whatever he wanted in order to get him to host the show. Would of been a very interesting pick. Stewart was also considered by CBS a decade ago when looking for a replacement for Dan Rather. The job would eventually go to Katie Couric.
